A heartfelt post recently highlighted the struggles of a Nigerian widow who is grappling with the sharp increase in fuel prices. As oil marketers began sourcing fuel from the Dangote refinery, gas stations across the country raised the price of petrol, exacerbating the financial strain on many Nigerians.
In a tearful conversation with NigeriaInfoFM, the widow expressed her overwhelming sadness and frustration, revealing that she can no longer afford transportation for herself and her son. Her emotional plea underscored the broader economic challenges facing the country and painted a vivid picture of the hardship many citizens are enduring due to rising costs of living.
This post has sparked widespread sympathy online, with many Nigerians rallying behind the widow’s story, reflecting on the dire need for policy changes to alleviate the burden on everyday citizens.
“Even when fuel was at N980, as a widow I couldn’t afford the transportation for my son to get to school and now they’re increasing it. What are we going to do? My son cannot even go to school,” she lamented.

@tomi_waziri : Mr. Sherif this is Tomi from Canada please how can I send something to this woman?
@rautim : We need to help this woman before she help herself, she’s completely traumatized. I will do my little bit.
@justnaturalman: 💔people are really passing through the most difficult hardship in the history of this country. A friend messaged me on WhatsApp & ask me to assist him with money to buy drugs as they now pay them bi-weekly rather than daily. Thursday last week I saw RIP on his Facebook wall.
@bodmasengr : It is so sad that we ve a government that shows zero empathy to her citizens. People are pushed to the border line daily with wicked and insensitive policies of this government and their lavish lifestyle. Nemesis will judge!!
@FitJoe44 : Elections have consequences and if you don’t have a voters card because voting doesn’t matter to you, you’ll still be at the receiving end 🤷🏽,2027 is another chance for everyone of us to vote APC out of power, if you don’t have a voters card,go and register and make sure you vote.
@ayokazeem1759: APC is a curse to this great nation. We talked then that these people are wolves in sheep clothing but people failed to do the proper thing. Look at the results now, people can’t barely survive in their own country. Nice one t-pain.
