On the first anniversary of singer Mohbadâs passing, Yomi Fabiyi, a well-known activist and actress from Nigeria, has called for a demonstration.
In an Instagram post, Fabiyi called on Nigerians to show up to the coronerâs inquest court session the next day.
In addition, he suggested that if no progress is made in the upcoming sitting, protests be planned around Mohbadâs death anniversary in order to continue the fight for justice.
âLetâs peacefully storm the court, attend the next coronerâs inquest, and protest to register our demands on this case,â he stated in his letter. We concentrate on the day of the one-year anniversary if nothing concrete is heard or observed.
According to Bmmblog, Mohbad, a former signee of the Marlian record company, passed away on September 12, 2023, for an unexplained reason.
A 13-member special investigation team was established by the Lagos State Police Command to look into the manâs death in response to the controversy surrounding his passing on social media.
On September 21, 2023, his body was excavated at the Lagos State University Teaching Hospital (LASUTH) in preparation for an autopsy.
A few months later, the doctor who performed the autopsy testified in front of the coronerâs court that the decomposition of Mohbadâs body prevented the test from determining the cause of death.
The singerâs family, unhappy with the verdict, reacted to the findings by calling for a separate autopsy.
