Alleged Sexual Harassment: Publish the Outcome of the Investigation, Discharged Female Soldier Tells Army

by Bm Bloggers

Private Ruth Ogunleye, a female soldier who was recently fired from the military after accusing a senior officer, Colonel I.B. Abdulkareem, of sexual harassment, has asked the Nigerian army to release the inquiry that led to her dismissal.

According to Bmmblog, Ogunleye was released from the army after alleging in January that some senior commanders, including Colonel I.B. Abdulkareem, Colonel G.S. Ogor, and Brigadier General I.B. Solebo, made her life unpleasant.

According to Nigerian Army spokeswoman Onyema Nwachukwu, the former female officer was discharged after an investigation proved the charges to be untrue.

Reacting to the army’s assertions, Ogunleye asked on her TikTok account on Tuesday for the investigation’s findings to be made public.

She stated, “I’d want to thank the Nigerian Army and its spokesperson, Maj. Gen. Onyema Nwachukwu. It is no longer news that I was dismissed from duty on June 15, 2024. I respectfully request that the Nigerian Army release the results of the investigation that led to my discharge.

“On January 9, 2024, I came on social media to complain about how I was harassed by Colonel I.B. Abdulkareem, Colonel G.S. Ogor, and Brigadier General I.B. Solebo” .
