Following Donald Trump’s re-election, actress America Ferrera is reportedly planning to move to the UK, prioritizing better prospects and stability for her children. The Ugly Betty star, who has been vocal about social issues, is said to be disappointed with the election outcome and concerned about the future under the new administration.
Ferrera, along with her husband Ryan Piers Williams and their children, Sebastian, six, and Lucia, four, is joining a number of public figures who have chosen to relocate amid political tensions in the United States. The actress has yet to confirm the move publicly, but sources close to her suggest that her decision reflects a desire to ensure a more secure environment for her family.
“America is sick that Donald Trump is President again,” an insider had said.
“She is devastated that Kamala lost. She thought the country she lived in was better than that.”
This action does not suggest that Ferrera is fully stepping away from Hollywood.
She intends to keep a presence in the U.S. to promote her work and advocacy for Latinas and women.
“She is going to continue to have a presence in the U.S. for work purposes and to fight for Latinas and women, but she will be overseas for family and to benefit her kids’ education,” they added.
