Babatunde Gbadamosi, the Action Democratic Party’s candidate for the 2019 Lagos State governorship election, has openly criticized Nollywood actress Funke Akindele. He accused her of being ungrateful and spreading falsehoods after she credited Sade Balogun, previously known as Sade Gbadamosi, with playing a significant role in her career.
At a recent event, Funke shared how Balogun helped her with her hit series Jenifa’s Diary and also supported her movie Omo Ghetto: The Saga. In response, Gbadamosi took to social media to dispute her claims, revealing that he had initially planned to make comedian Ayo Makun (AY) an ambassador for his real estate venture, Amen Estate, but changed his mind due to his sister’s persuasion.
“I blame my younger sister, @iyaeto, for Funke Akindele’s nauseating ingratitude and shameless lies,” Gbadamosi wrote. He recalled how his sister convinced him to offer Funke the ambassadorship role, as she was considered a younger sister (àbúrò) from their hometown and was married to Abdul-Rasheed Bello, also known as JJC Skillz, someone Gbadamosi had long admired.
Gbadamosi also countered Funke’s statement, clarifying that he was the one who actually financed the production of Ọmọ Ghetto: The Saga, contrary to her narrative.
