A Nigerian woman with a biochemistry degree has expressed regret over her current career as a pap (fermented cereal pudding) vendor, despite investing years in university education and paying substantial tuition fees.
In a TikTok video, she shared her experience of preparing pap, with a caption saying, âIf I had known I would end up as a pap vendor, I wouldnât have wasted money studying biochemistry in school. I would have used the money to establish myself.â
She reflected that if she had foreseen her present situation, she would have used her resources differently, implying that the return on her degree didnât match her expectations.
The video garnered widespread attention, with many viewers commenting and sharing their opinions about her circumstances, sparking conversations about the value of higher education in the current economic climate.
