Nigerian rapper and activist Falz has taken legal action against media personality Verydarkman (VDM) following claims that Falz and his father, Femi Falana (SAN), sought to help crossdresser Bobrisky obtain a federal pardon while he was in jail.
Verydarkman stirred up controversy by releasing an audio tape in which he accused Falz and his father of interfering in Bobrisky’s case and demanding a ₦10 million bribe from the popular crossdresser. These allegations quickly went viral, sparking intense reactions online.
Falz, however, has denied the allegations, asserting that while Bobrisky did reach out for assistance regarding his stay in the VIP section of the correctional center, no bribery was involved. According to Falz, he only offered advice on the matter and did not pursue any undue influence.
In response to VDM’s accusations, Falz has filed a lawsuit demanding a public retraction and apology from Verydarkman, warning of legal consequences if the media personality fails to comply. The lawsuit has added a legal dimension to an already heated public exchange.
