Chioma Akpotha Blames Netflix For Early Trailer Release Of Femi Adebayo’s Seven Doors

Actress Chioma Akpotha has attacked Netflix for releasing the official trailer for Femi Adebayo’s new film, Seven Doors, before the producer had a chance to do so.

Netflix posted the trailer on their Instagram account on Friday, ahead of Femi Adebayo’s intended release date.

The post said, “All praise the king. SEVEN DOORS will open on December 13. “Only on Netflix.” This early release provoked outrage in the comments section, with many people questioning Netflix’s decision.

Among the detractors was Chioma Akpotha, who expressed her frustration: “@naijaonnetflix Guys, like, WTH! Do you not understand what timing is? 😡 @femiadebayosalami started the ball moving by dropping teasers! The publication of the complete trailer disrupted people’s expectations. Just like that?! Do you not understand what being strategic entails? Kai.”

Other comments arrived, with Ganiyu Kolawole writing, “Netflix didn’t even wait for Femi to unlock the fifth door on his page.”

Adebayom Jimoh said, “You guys should have followed the producer’s marketing strategy.”

Femi Adebayo has been creating buzz for Seven Doors by tweeting teasers, keeping fans eager about the film’s release.

The producer of Jagun Jagun successfully captivated the audience and raised their expectations.

In an interview with Independence in August, Femi stated that he is working on a new project that is “better than Jagun Jagun.”

He also gave some information regarding the film.

“The next film that I stated was bigger than Jagun Jagun is called Seven Doors, and it’s set in two eras, the 18th and 19th centuries, so we have the old-school setting with the 504s, the Volkswagens of the day, and it also brings us back to that Jagun Jagun setting. It’s diverse and includes several tribes. It is about a Yoruba ruler who marries an Igbo queen and invites a Hausa man to invest. It revolves around Nigerian culture.

The cast of Seven Doors includes Femi Adebayo, Chioma Akpotha, Wumi Toriola, Yinka Quadri, Oshodi Oke, Dayo Amusa, Adebayo Salami, and Gabriel Afolayan, among others.

The film will premiere on Netflix on December 13.
