Chris Brown, the renowned American singer, songwriter, and dancer, recently opened up in an interview about his memorable connection with award-winning Nigerian artist Wizkid.
In 2021, Wizkid made headlines by selling out the O2 Arena, which has a capacity of 20,000 people, three times in just thirteen minutes with his hit song âEssence.â
During one of these spectacular events, Wizkid invited Chris Brown on stage, marking Brownâs first U.K. performance in a decade. Following his 2009 assault on then-girlfriend Rihanna, Brown had been barred from entering the U.K. due to his conviction, which significantly affected his ability to perform in the country for several years.
Wizkid introduced Chris Brown to the U.K. stage for the first time in a decade, saying, âThis is my brother for over 10 years,â to the audience.. âThis is my guy, the first guy to ever show me love internationally and shâ, you know? Tonight this is his first time performing in London in more than 10 years. Now yâall make some noise for my fâing brother. My real nâa! My dawg! Breezy!â
In a recent interview, Chris Brown expressed that he will always remember Wizkid, calling him a lifelong brother due to his generous actions.
He shared that he has spent his career performing across America but had never been to the UK until Wizkid invited him to his concert at the O2 arena. Chris was touched by Wizkidâs kindness, as he covered all his expenses for the trip.
In his words;Â âWizkid invited me to my biggest stage in the UK in 10 years. I had been performing all around America and hadnât gone to the UK for any show before. One day, Wiz called me and told me he was getting everything set for me to come to his 02 Arena concert. He paid for everything, and I was wowed. Wizkid is my brother for life.â
