Internationally acclaimed South African actress Connie Chiume has passed away at the age of 72.
Chiume, renowned for her roles in Black Panther and Wakanda Forever, died on Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at Garden City Hospital.
In a public statement, her family announced, “The Chiume Family is deeply saddened to inform you of the passing of our beloved Connie Chiume. Connie, 72, passed away today at Garden City Hospital. We will provide further details in due course and request privacy during this difficult time.”
Connie Chiume was celebrated for her impressive work in television series such as Mohlolohadi, Zone 14, Yizo Yizo, Rhythm City, Housekeepers, and Grassroots. Her recent appearances included the hit series Gomora and Beyoncé’s film Black Is King.
