American rapper Sean Love Combs, better known as Diddy, will remain in custody as he awaits trial after a federal judge in New York denied his request for $50 million bail on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
The judge opted to keep the artist in detention, citing prosecutors’ arguments that he presents a “serious flight risk.”
The 54-year-old music mogul was taken into custody on Monday night due to allegations including racketeering conspiracy and s3x trafficking, to which he has pleaded not guilty.
According to CNN, Combs intends to appeal the ruling before US District Court Judge Andrew Carter on Wednesday afternoon. If the appeal fails, he will be returned to the detention center.
