Tonto Dikeh, a Nollywood actress and politician, and her bodyguard, Gbenga, have been summoned before the Chief Magistrate’s Court in Wuse Zone 6 for alleged assault and criminal trespass.
According to Bmmblog, in a court summons dated August 6, 2024, the two defendants were ordered to appear in court on August 24, 2024, to address the claims against them.
Elvis Abuyere, CEO of Skyewise Group Limited and owner of an Abuja-based auto dealership company, filed the case under court number CR/359/2024.
According to Abuyere, Tonto approached the vehicle manufacturer in January about purchasing Mikano Motors’ brand-new Changan Uni-K 2023 model.
The complainant, who was considered to have a dealership relationship with Mikano, paid Mikano N85 million in full for the car, with the understanding that Dikeh would pay the balance in instalments within three months of receiving the vehicle.
Tonto reportedly paid N37 million as her initial deposit on the used 2008/2009 Lexus, plus an additional N3.5 million.
However, the movie star did not settle the money by the end of April, when the payment window closed, so breaking the agreement.
Abuyere got the car from Dikeh on May 1, after a fruitless attempt to collect the remainder. Dikeh later paid N20 million, N17 million, and N5 million, leaving an outstanding balance of N2.1 million.
On July 30, the actress contacted the car dealership to have the vehicle serviced, and it was taken in for maintenance. Following the completion of the repairs, the auto firm requested the remaining N2.7 million from her.
However, she was reported to have violently entered the complainant’s firm premises in Maitama, Abuja, with her bodyguard and two ladies, committing “criminal trespass.”
The actor is also accused of physically abusing the accuser and other employees of his organisation.
The four individuals disrupted business operations at the car dealership, damaged property, and threatened to use social media to harm the complainant’s business.
