Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has once again made headlines, but this time it’s not for his acting career. Instead, it’s a controversial post he shared amid his ongoing divorce from estranged wife May Edochie, which has stirred criticism. The divorce, fueled in part by his public relationship with fellow actress Judy Austin, has kept his personal life in the spotlight.
On September 28, Yul took to his official Facebook page to share a reflective message about the importance of offering apologies. In his post, he emphasized the need for humility, encouraging his followers not to be too proud to say “I’m sorry.” He highlighted that acknowledging one’s flaws is essential for personal growth and healing.
Yul also stressed the danger of holding grudges, warning that it can weigh down the spirit and make individuals vulnerable on a spiritual level. He pointed out that many lives have been lost simply because people were unwilling to apologize to those they wronged.
His words;
“Never feel too big to say ‘l’m sorry’ We’re all humans, No one is perfect In this life, you’ll wrong people & people will wrong you
“Apologize when you wrong someone. Many people have lost their lives bcos they failed to apologize to people they wronged
“It can weaken the spirits that protect you and make you prone to spiritual attacks”
However, this heartfelt message did not resonate as he may have hoped. Almost immediately, his followers unleashed a torrent of backlash, accusing him of hypocrisy.
Many were quick to point out that Yul, given his current circumstances, lacks the moral authority to preach about apology.
His critics insisted that until he genuinely apologizes to May Edochie, who recently bagged an Africa achievement award, for the upheaval caused by his actions, his words ring hollow.
