Nigerian actress Ronke Odusanya has opened up about her failed marriage to Saheed Olarewaju, also known as Jago. During a conversation with fellow actress Bimpe Akintunde, Ronke shared that their marriage ended after a supposed friend falsely told her husband that she had been unfaithful and had taken their daughter to be with a senator.
She recalled that when she left her husband, she was left with only N10,000 in her bank account and had to seek refuge at her brotherâs house. Ronke, who has one child, revealed that her ex-husband later regretted believing the rumors, but by then, it was too late to repair their relationship.
Ronke Odusanya narrated:
âWhen it happened that time and degenerated, my partner later realized that he shouldnât have listened to the things he heard back then.
A friend of mine told him that I wanted to leave him and go into prostitution. That when I left that night, I went to sleep in a Senatorâs house with Fife. When he told me, my mouth was left open.
Then I sent him a picture; God gave me grace; I didnât know how I did it. I did a recording of the time and the date, were on my phone for the video. I recorded it when we got to where we would sleep.
When we left, I didnât have up to N10,000 in my account, but I decided this was it. I had nothing; all my jewelry was taken away, and I fainted with that. I was wondering where to start from. I cried so much that day because I didnât have money to get an accommodationâ.
Ronke Odusanya and her ex-husband were in conflict over their childâs paternity. On February 10, 2021, Saheed appeared in court to request a DNA test for their daughter. The court allowed the test, but Ronkeâs lawyer insisted that Saheed pay for it.
In February 2022, Saheed posted a video on Instagram where he addressed the paternity of their child. He apologized for asking for a DNA test and confirmed that their daughter Fife is indeed his. He expressed his love for her and explained that past events led him to take this step.
