Popular Nigerian singer Raoul John Njeng-Njeng, better known as Skales, recently claimed that he wrote several hit songs for fellow artist Wizkid during their time at Empire Mates Entertainment (EME). In an interview on the show Curiosity Made Me Ask, hosted by content creator Bae U Barbie, Skales disclosed that he co-wrote songs from Wizkid’s debut album Superstar, including the bonus track “Wiz Party.”
Skales also acknowledged that Wizkid wrote some of his songs, notably the hit “Mukulu.” He explained, “Back in EME, we were a team, so we used to write songs for each other. I wrote songs for Wizkid, and he also wrote songs for me.”
Both Skales and Wizkid were among the first artists signed to EME by R&B star and music executive Banky W in the early 2010s, a move that catapulted them into the spotlight. Despite their success, both artists eventually left the label after disagreements with Banky W.
In a past interview, Banky W revealed that Wizkid still owed EME three albums under the terms of his initial contract.
