Content creator MC Lively criticized social commentator JJ Omojuwa’s tweet about the U.S. elections, calling it insensitive. Omojuwa had remarked that attention should now shift to the judiciary after Donald Trump, from the Republican Party, lost Washington D.C. votes to Kamala Harris, the Democratic nominee. Many interpreted his comment as a mockery of supporters of Nigeria’s Labour Party, who had used the hashtag #AllEyesOnTheJudiciary during Peter Obi’s legal challenge against the 2023 presidential election results.
MC Lively expressed disappointment at being associated as Omojuwa’s friend, particularly due to the tone of the tweet. He asked Omojuwa to “lower his gun” in reference to the harshness of his words.
In response, Omojuwa clarified that he does not consider MC Lively a friend and that their interactions at public events did not equate to friendship, referring to them as mere acquaintances. The exchange sparked significant reactions on X, with users sharing their own views on the matter.

@lollylarry1: “I’m still searching for the insensitivity in that post.”
@akinbobola: “Sad reality of people seeking friends in an opinion field. For the education of those still in the dark, X is majorly for sharing of OPINIONS. Though they may reflect facts at times, they remain opinions of the author! Caution: Melding of opinions doesn’t indicate kinship.”
@justboluwatife: “Funny guy wan use style disrespect JJ. Man said “insensitive comments like this” then went on to use “friend and Egbon”.”
@AyanfeOmoBola: “I observed JJ comes so clearer to people these days.”
