Grammy-winning South African singer Tyla has denounced the mistreatment of Miss South Africa contestant Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, who recently withdrew from the pageant under nationalistic criticism.
Originally from Nigerian and Mozambican background, Adetshina qualified for the Miss South Africa beauty pageant’s round of 16 and became the focus of a nationality debate in July.
She recently dropped out of the competition even though she was a Top 11 Finalist as the South African Department of Home Affairs claimed her mother might have committed identity theft and fraud.
Reacting, Tyla expressed disappointment at the cruel treatment melted at Adetshina. She said that the model suffered bullying from rivals.
Disappointed that this happened to her, but wish you all the best girl,” Tyla said in sharing a story of Adetshina’s withdrawal from the tournament on X. Murder it!
“I just feel regardless of the criticisms; I will always stand with South Africa. I refuse to stand for bullying; she was bullied.
Miss Universe Nigeria has meantime invited Chidimma Adetshina to compete. She still has to reply to the invite, though.
