British supermodel Naomi Campbell has been banned from serving as a charity trustee in the United Kingdom for five years. The decision follows an investigation by the UK Charity Commission, which uncovered misuse of charity funds, including expenditures on luxury spa treatments, hotel stays, and cigarettes.
The commission’s investigation revealed that from 2016 to 2022, only 8.5% of the charity’s total spending went towards charitable grants, raising concerns about financial mismanagement.
In response to the findings, Campbell expressed her concern, stating, “I have just found out about the findings today. And I am extremely concerned. I wasn’t in control of my charity; I put the control in the hands of a legal employer.”
