Thugs are reportedly invading Idanre Local Government Area in Ondo State, where the governorship election is now taking place.
Festus Akingbaso, the PDP governorship candidate’s running mate, revealed this.
Akingbaso, a House of Representatives member, spoke to journalists after voting at Polling Unit 005, Oke Imikan.
The congressman reported pleasure with voter participation and security precautions at his polling location, but raised concern over stories of thugs allegedly disrupting the voting process in the region.
He alleged that the thugs were organized by the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“The voter turnout is not bad, and the security situation here is commendable.” I’d want to commend INEC on their great performance thus far.
“However, after casting their votes, I advise voters to stay behind and monitor proceedings until the final results are announced.” If all goes well, I am confident that my party will win.
“Information reaching me indicates that several villages have been overtaken by thugs purportedly brought in by the APC.
“Villages including Ofosun, Omifunfun, and Allah are reportedly occupied. Akingbaso stated that suspected thugs have congregated in huge numbers in Igbepo.
