Oluwatoyin Babalola, the Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in Ondo State, announced that the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) achieved a 97% success rate in the ongoing Ondo State Governorship election on Saturday.
She told reporters this while observing the election at certain polling stations in Akure, the capital of Ondo State.
She was accompanied by Kenneth Onyeakwu, the National Commissioner of INEC, and Oladipo Abayomi, the Commissioner of Police in Ondo State.
According to Babalola, the election has gone smoothly, with polls opening early and an amazing voter participation.
She also expressed confidence that the election would be conducted without incident.
