Veteran Nigerian artist Peter Okoye, also known as Mr. P from the duo Psquare, has responded to allegations from his brother Rudeboy (Paul Okoye) regarding song theft.
The dispute revolves around Peterâs latest track, Attention, with Rudeboy claiming that the song was inspired by his upcoming album, set for release in June 2025. Peter took to Instagram to deny the accusations, asserting that he has evidence to refute the claims.
He addressed the situation by stating, âIf someone makes false claims about me and I can prove it, I have the right to stand up for myself.â Peter also spoke out about Rudeboyâs attempts to get the song removed from music platforms, revealing that Paul and their older brother, Jude Okoye, had hired a lawyer to take legal action against the track.
He wrote:
Call us names, call us childish; it is fine.I understand, but anyone that says anything false about me and I have evidence, then I have a right to defend myselfâ.
