The controversial reality TV personality, Phyna, or Josephine Ijeoma Otabor, has criticised the Miss Universe Nigeria 2024 pageant for accepting Chidimma Vanessa Onwe Adetshina, a model of Nigerian and Mozambican descent, who withdrew from the competition due to concerns about her nationality.
Adetshina, who was forced to withdraw from the Miss SA pageant despite being a Top 11 Finalist, was invited to compete in the Miss Universe Nigeria beauty pageant. According to Bmmblog, the organisers shared a video on Wednesday announcing Adetshina’s decision to compete in the beauty contest.
Adetshina’s participation may have an impact on the prospects of “typical Nigerian queens” in the beauty competition, according to Phyna, who responded via her X handle.
She suggested that she take a break from pageantry.
