Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, recently opened up about the warm receptions he receives during his international tours, which often include invitations to dine with presidents in various countries. In an interview with Kiss Fresh London, he highlighted how his celebrity status has facilitated connections with influential figures, including the president of the World Bank and leaders of significant nations.

Davido expressed profound gratitude for the admiration and support he receives from his global fanbase, particularly in Africa. He emphasized the importance of these connections and the positive impact they have on his music career, showcasing the growing influence of Afrobeats on the world stage. His experiences underline how artists can bridge cultures and foster relationships through their art.

“Every country we go to, the President invites us for dinner except London [United Kingdom] and the United States of America.

“It’s beautiful to see. I mean, leaving my country, Nigeria, and people welcoming me like the president in other countries, shows how well Nigeria is doing around the world in terms of music and cultural impacts,” he said.

He also shared that his Jamaican counterpart, YG Marley, was astonished by the immense love and support from his fans during their recent collaboration.

Meanwhile, Davido has announced his new single Awuke featuring YG Marley

This marks his return to solo music following the launch of his fourth studio album, Timeless, in March 2023.

While Davido has been active in the music scene through various collaborations such as the popular remixes ‘Twe Twe’ with Kizz Daniel and ‘Ogechi‘ featuring Boypee, Hyce, and Brown Joel his last solo effort has left a significant gap for fans

The singer’s latest venture into the Amapiano genre, a notable departure from his usual Afrobeats sound, features collaboration with YG Marley, grandson of reggae legend Bob Marley.
