Ruger reacts to Davido’s latest show with Angelique Kidjo.

by Bm Bloggers

Ruger, whose full name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, is known for his bluntness and confidence in speaking his mind, regardless of age or experience in the entertainment industry. Recently, he made waves on social media with comments that many connected to a controversial performance by David ‘Davido’ Adeleke.

The performance, which featured Davido singing “Joy” with renowned artist Angelique Kidjo, received criticism from viewers who felt it lacked authenticity, particularly due to the heavy use of autotune. On November 6, Ruger took to Twitter to express his thoughts on autotune and his own approach to music.

In his tweets, Ruger confidently boasted about always being in demand for shows and stated that unlike others, he doesn’t rely on autotune for his performances. His remarks sparked discussions among fans and the wider public, with many speculating that his comments were a subtle reference to Davido’s performance. Ruger has made it clear that he values authenticity in his music and is unafraid to call out practices he believes undermine it.

In his words:

“Now, let’s talk about the gaddamn autotunes on the mic when y’all perform😂😂😂. Next time, tell your engineer to shut it down when you’re about to speak coz you be speaking in Tunez wahalaaaaaa. Well, Ruger don’t need that sh*t. thank you ❤️”
