Nigerian Afrobeat star Seun Kuti has waded into the brewing controversy surrounding his friend, Martins Vincent Otse, known as Verydarkman (VDM). VDM has recently released shocking evidence that has gone viral on social media, targeting crossdresser Bobrisky, the EFCC, and popular artist Falz, along with his renowned father, Senior Advocate Femi Falana. This scandal is rapidly becoming one of the biggest stories of the year.

Earlier, GistLover reported that VDM shared a video containing a voice recording of Bobrisky allegedly admitting to paying N15 million to EFCC officials to have his money laundering charges dropped. Although Bobrisky faced these charges earlier this year, he claimed that his wealth and connections helped him evade punishment.

In the video, Bobrisky also mentioned discussions with Falz and his father, Femi Falana, who allegedly assured him that his name would be cleared. Additionally, he revealed that he reached out to his “godfather,” who arranged for an apartment near the prison in case he had to serve time.

Seun Kuti, known for his candid remarks, didn’t hold back during a recent live session. He disclosed that VDM was the first to share the explosive evidence with him, and he expressed full trust in VDM, encouraging him to disseminate the information widely.

What particularly upset Seun Kuti was the apparent disparity in how justice is administered. He voiced disbelief that Bobrisky appeared to receive special treatment from the EFCC, contrasting it with his own experience, where he found himself in Panti prison during a conflict with the Nigerian police, despite his prominence.

The bold musician didn’t hold back. He strongly criticized the EFCC, saying the anti-corruption agency was never meant to target the true enemies of the state.

Seun argued that the EFCC was just a tool created by former President Olusegun Obasanjo and the U.S. government to go after minor criminals like “yahoo boys” and online fraudsters, while allowing corrupt politicians and wealthy business people to escape punishment.

Seun pointed out that the agency’s focus is misplaced, as they ignore the serious political and corporate corruption in Nigeria. Instead, they concentrate on young internet fraudsters, who he believes are not the main issue facing the country.
