The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) candidate, Agboola Ajayi, has condemned the upcoming Ondo Governorship Election as disgraceful and completely compromised.
Ajayi delivered a harsh verdict on the election after voting in Kiribo, Ese-Odo Local Government Area.
Ajayi, who was accredited, voted at 10:45 a.m. at Unit 4, Ward 2 Idumado in Kiribo.
Ese-Odo LGA also demanded the resignation of the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, and the Ondo Resident Electoral Commission, citing alleged electoral irregularities.
The PDP governorship candidate and former deputy governor claimed that it took more than 10 minutes for the INEC BVAS to grab him.
“The system is not ideal, and there are numerous complaints here and there.
“If INEC cannot effectively organise an election in even one state, you must understand that we are on the verge of anarchy.
“I believe INEC and the Resident Electoral Commission (REC) have acted inappropriately.
“We have stated multiple times that we do not trust Barr. Oluwatoyin Babalola (REC). That this woman cannot be impartial.
“The system has been compromised, and we have received a series of calls from everyone. People are complaining about vote-buying and the BVAS problem. “It’s a very shameful exercise,” he explained.
Agboola also asked for the resignation of the INEC chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
“And I believe that if the INEC chairman is unable to perform his duties, the public should demand his resignation. He should resign.
“It is completely compromised. This is unfortunate, and Nigerians are not pleased. “It’s somewhat peaceful here,” he added. (NAN)
