Nigerian-British rapper Joseph Olaitan Adenuga Jnr, widely recognized as Skepta, has encountered backlash on social media following his expression of admiration for fellow artist Tiwa Savage in the Igbo language.
The acclaimed musician shared a striking image of Tiwa Savage, accompanied by the exclamation âChineke,â which means âGodâ in Igbo. While many fans praised Skeptaâs gesture, one user, known as Nonso, criticized his use of the Igbo language.
In a tweet aimed at the rapper, Nonso remarked:Â âOga, you are Yoruba! Stop using Igbo words; we donât recognize you.â
This comment quickly attracted significant attention on X, leading Skepta to express his bewilderment regarding Nonsoâs remarks.
