Due to a conspiracy involving an Islamist assault, American singer Taylor Swift’s three scheduled concerts in Vienna this week have been cancelled.
According to Bmmblog, the government’s confirmation of a planned attack at the stadium prompted the postponement.
The news was made late on Wednesday by Barracuda Music, the show’s organiser, and Austrian Chancellor Karl Nehammer said that a tragedy had been avoided.
“With confirmation from government officials of a planned terrorist attack at Ernst Happel Stadium, we have no choice but to cancel the three scheduled shows for everyone’s safety,” the organiser wrote on Instagram.
The organisers also announced that all tickets purchased for the concerts on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday will be reimbursed.
Remember that the authorities had earlier declared that a 19-year-old supporter of the Islamic State, or IS, had been arrested for allegedly plotting an Islamist attack in the Vienna area, and they had warned him to “focus” on Swift’s three scheduled concerts.
Franz Ruf, Austria’s top security officer, announced at a press conference that the suspect, who had just declared his loyalty to IS, had been arrested early on Wednesday morning in Lower Austria, roughly an hour’s drive from the capital.
