Nigerian artist Anthony Ebuka Victor, better known as Victony, has opened up about his ongoing health challenges, expressing gratitude for the blessings he’s received despite his struggles.
In an interview on the Adesope Live segment at the Afroland Festival, Victony shared that he has undergone four surgeries and will need another one after his upcoming tour, which begins today (August 7) in New York City.
Despite his health issues, Victony manages to perform by relying on pain relievers and remains thankful for the grace that allows him to continue his career. He emphasized his belief that his ability to keep performing and recording, despite his medical condition, is a testament to divine intervention.
He said, “I’m blessed, and the world can see it. I’m still in recovery but able to do what I love. Reflecting on last year and even now, I’ve had four surgeries and will have one more after the tour. Going in and out of the hospital has been tough, but it’s still a blessing. I take pain relievers before going on stage and continue to record. I’m thankful for God’s grace; it’s not by my own power. I don’t know why I’m favored, but I’m grateful.”
