Nigerian singer Anthony Ebuka Victor, better known as Victony, credits his hit song “Soweto” with significantly altering the course of his career. In a recent interview with Sound City, Victony discussed how the global success of the track has been a pivotal moment in his life.
“‘Soweto’ transformed my life. It opened doors to places I never imagined reaching in such a short span,” he shared.
He continued, “The song was already a hit by late 2022, and in 2023, we aimed to build on that success. That’s why we enlisted Don Toliver and Rema for the remix, as their styles align closely with the essence of ‘Soweto.'”
Victony also noted that he is now an independent artist.
