Afrobeats musician Bella Shmurda is thinking of giving up on his âuniqueâ voice in order to try out a different sound.
Shmurda stated he wants to experiment with a sound that will appeal to a wider audience in a recent interview with Just Vibes.
âI know I have a unique voice, but I donât want to be using it anymore,â the âCash Appâ hitmaker stated. Iâm curious to test out a new sound.
Since gaining notoriety in 2020 with his widely shared hit song âVision 2020,â Shmurda has remained true to his music.
Many Nigerian musicians have altered their sound throughout time in an effort to reach a wider audience, particularly those outside of the country.
There have been a lot of people criticising this tendency.
With his 2017 album âSounds From The Other Side,â which has a Caribbean theme, Wizkid set the trend.
In his 2018 EP âSon Of Mercy,â Davido also made an attempt to alter the sound, but he later said that the endeavour âfailedâ and went back to using real afrobeats.
Rema, Fireboy DML, and Ayra Starr have altered their tones in order to reach a worldwide audience.
