Nigerian music artist Kizz Daniel recently shared his views on the ongoing debate surrounding streaming farms, following the controversy regarding Wizkid’s “Dance” being temporarily removed from Apple Music’s Top 100 chart.
The incident sparked heated discussions across social media about the implications of streaming manipulation in the Nigerian music industry. Speculation arose that the song’s removal was due to suspicious streaming activity, as Apple Music recalculated streams before the track regained its position after several hours.
In response to this, Kizz Daniel took to his X (formerly Twitter) page to comment on the issue. He expressed that he does not oppose streaming farms, acknowledging that while these practices often serve as a marketing strategy, they tend to benefit artists with substantial financial resources. Daniel clarified that his remarks were not intended to target any specific artist but rather reflected his broader perspective on the industry’s dynamics
“Farming isn’t a crime, it’s Marketing … for placement and all …. But na for who get the money 💰 We ain’t shading anybody here before una start , just tryna push the new generation to DROP THOSE HIDDEN GEMS … I won learn,” he wrote.
