Rising music star Chimamanda Chukuma, better known as Qing Madi, has shared the differences between her true self and her public persona as Qing Madi.
In a recent episode of the âIs This Seat Takenâ podcast, hosted by Chinasa Akunam, Qing Madi discussed how her stage confidence starkly contrasts with her naturally introverted personality.
When asked about the differences between Amanda and Qing Madi, she explained, âYes, thereâs a distinction in terms of performance and confidence. People who know me personally are aware that Iâm quite reserved. I have a mini library in my room, and I prefer to immerse myself in books rather than engage in conversation.â
The singer admitted that she feels nervous during public appearances, but when she adopts the Qing Madi persona, she exudes complete confidence.
She recounted how her mother is often astonished to see her perform energetically on stage and interact with the crowd without any visible fear. âI get on stage, and Iâm full of energy, engaging with the audience, and it feels like a completely different persona. Qing Madi is confident, but thatâs not who I am in my everyday life,â she said.
