Tems’ album ranks second on the 2024 Billboard’s Best R&B Albums list.

Temilade Openiyi, often known as Tems, is a Nigerian singer and composer who has attained an important milestone in her career. Her debut album, “Born In The Wild,” has been ranked among Billboard’s best R&B albums for 2024.

Tems’ achievement affirms his standing as one of the world’s premier African artists.

Surprisingly, she is the only African artist on this prestigious list, which also includes records by notable performers like as Chris Brown, Party Next Door, Muni Long, and Bryson Tiller.

Billboard praises Tems’ music, claiming that it combines many distinct elements that cannot be limited to Afrobeats.

Her songs have achieved fame far beyond Africa, earning her millions of followers and numerous prizes.

Tems’ debut album, “Born In The Wild,” has garnered both commercial and critical success. It debuted at No. 5 on the Top R&B Albums chart and rose to No. 56 on the Billboard 200.

Furthermore, the record earned Tems two Grammy nominations in 2025 for Best Global Music record and Best African Music Performance.
